2026 Leadership Institute & Speakers

The Leadership Institute will prominently feature in our Saturday programming, offering a range of topics appealing to both undergraduate and alumni members of our fraternity. Central to our agenda will be recruitment and growth, complemented by small group discussions that delve into specific areas of interest. We are also eager to hear from attendees regarding suggested topics, and we will prioritize those that resonate most with our registrants.

Large Group

The 182nd Psi Upsilon Convention Summer Leadership Institute is a facilitated, single-day program designed to move beyond information delivery and create structured space for honest conversation about where chapters are strong, where they can improve, and what they are committed to doing about it. The day is built around three central questions, each examined from a different angle: Why would someone want to join your chapter? — looking outward at reputation, culture, and how the chapter presents itself to the world. Why would someone stay a member of Psi Upsilon? — looking inward at the quality of the membership experience across all four years of college. And why would your campus be worse off without your chapter? — looking beyond the brotherhood to the real, visible impact the chapter has on its campus and community.

The program alternates between large group sessions that introduce each question and frame the conversation, and small group sessions where the real work happens. Small groups keep chapter delegations together and are led by a combination of headquarters staff and experienced alumni and board volunteers, who work from layered discussion questions designed to move conversations from surface-level responses toward more honest and productive reflection. Attendees move back into the larger group between questions to share what surfaced in their discussions before returning to small groups for the next round.

The day concludes with a dedicated goal-setting session in which each chapter team drafts a written set of specific, actionable goals to bring home — grounded in the three questions of the day, with named people responsible for follow-through. Every attendee will leave the institute with a written commitment that gives their chapter a concrete starting point for the year ahead and gives chapter services coordinators a tangible record to inform ongoing support.

History and Archives Committee

The History and Archives Committee was created in 2020 to better research and highlight Psi Upsilon’s stories. Each year the committee picks a topic to research and present at Convention to give attendees a glimpse at our history and discuss the brothers who help make our fraternity special. This year we’ll be hosting a luncheon at the Phi Chapter House where will share stories of it’s history and some significant parts of the house.
