The 1833 Club is the Psi Upsilon Fraternity’s undergraduate giving program. Undergraduates can start building their years of giving and begin being recognized for their support.
From its very beginning as literary society, Psi Upsilon has a long tradition of producing authors and orators of renown. Here are some of our brothers with works currently in print. If you know of others works by or about Psi U’s please submit them to be considered for inclusion.
Psi Upsilon recognizes the outstanding achievements of our undergraduate brothers yearly with the Garnet and Gold Award of Academic Excellence, Owl Award for Exceptional Academic Performance, Clasped Hand Award for Outstanding Philanthropy & Service, Diamond Award for Exceptional Chapters, and Award of Distinction.
David A.B. Brown, ΕΦ ’66 Distinguished Alumnus Award
The Distinguished Alumnus Award is the highest award which may be bestowed upon an alumnus of Psi Upsilon for bringing honor to the Fraternity by exemplifying the true spirit and meaning of brotherhood in all that they do and say, for dedicated and unselfish service in pursuit of the advancement of the Fraternity, and for demonstrating a commitment to serve the educational environment, community, and country. It is anticipated the recipient will have distinguished themselves in their chosen profession, And that their actions are congruent with Psi Upsilon’s values. Recommend an Alumnus Here.
Distinguished Alumni Service Award
The 155th Psi Upsilon Convention created the Distinguished Alumni Service Award to recognize those alumni whose service has brought honor to our fraternity by supporting Psi Upsilon and their respective chapters. Recommend an Alumnus Here.

George L. Howell, Eta ’55, Psi Upsilon Philanthropist Award
Recognizes an individual (or family) with a proven record of exceptional generosity to Psi Upsilon who, through direct financial support, has demonstrated outstanding fraternal and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles within Psi Upsilon at the International level. Griffin Award For Senior Excellence
In 2005 the 162nd Psi U Convention created the Griffin Award for Senior Excellence to recognize members of the senior class who have shown exceptional dedication and commitment to Psi U in their final year of classes as an undergraduate. The purpose of this award is to maintain and encourage involvement by undergraduate brothers in their final academic year and to stimulate involvement with the chapter.

Outstanding Junior Award
The Outstanding Junior Award is a long standing tradition in Psi Upsilon that recognizes the undergraduate, in the junior class before entering their senior year, that best exemplifies the values of Psi Upsilon Fraternity. The chapter decides on this award and submits nominations every Spring.
