2021 Archons’ Academy

The 27th Archons’ Academy is in the books! Having to navigate online learning posed some unique challenges but also offered new opportunities and we are very proud of what we were able to put together: Rather than just try to do what we always do, we greatly broadened the scope of the academy and opened it to more members and new topics. Over the course of January, we hosted 8 educational sessions with over 16 hours of total programming. Sessions ranged in size from well over 150 undergraduates, to some smaller more targeted discussions with only a single representative from each chapter in attendance. In the end we had just over 200 unique undergraduate visitors to the Archons’ Academy in 2021 – making it the largest educational event Psi Upsilon Fraternity has ever hosted!

New Books from Psi U Authors

Author and Publisher Jason Pinter, Xi ’03 (Wesleyan) recently completed “A Stranger at the Door” his second Rachel Marin thriller. On the surface, Rachel is an ordinary single mother; on the inside, she’s a fierce, brilliant vigilante. After an unspeakable crime shatters her life, she changes her identity and moves to a small town in Illinois, hoping to spare her children from further trauma…or worse. But crime follows her everywhere.

On the other side of the galaxy, Brian Asman, Phi Delta ’03 (Mary Washington) penned “Jailbroke”, a heartwarming/ripping tale about what it means to be human in a galaxy run by artificial intelligence. Future slacker Kelso’s got the easiest gig in the galaxy, working the Gordita Especial! pod on board an interstellar cruiser, although that doesn’t stop him from complaining about it to anyone who’ll listen.

The Psi Upsilon Dignity U. Portal

Psi Upsilon is proud to be a sponsor of DignityU, a project created and produced by Mike Dilbeck (Sigma Nu Fraternity), with support from expert consultant Dr. Donna Hicks, to provide needed education on this important topic of dignity.

This program looks into how dignity impacts a person’s own thoughts and actions, in both their lives and in their respective organizations. A key component will be to demonstrate ways to intervene against the personal violations of someone’s dignity, while recognizing the difference made by respecting the dignity in others.

From the Archives: The Founding of the Delta Chapter at NYU

The founding of the Delta Chapter at New York University is incredibly important for Psi Upsilon as it is the first branch of our fraternity from Union College, and in 1837 took some consideration as our founder’s did not plan on extending Psi Upsilon beyond Union College when they began our society.

We plan to highlight stories about our past on a regular basis to help promote our online digital archive collection as well as share important milestones in our fraternities storied history that may otherwise be overlooked.
